Students of the Department of Geography Education Conducted a Field Study in Bozcaada
Students of the Department of Geography Education carried out a field study in Bozcaada Island within the scope of the Field Studies course. A group of 20 students, including 2nd year students and graduate students, attended the event on March 16, 2024, guided by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Evren Erginal. The study started with observations in a contact metamorphism section formed at the basalt-serpentinite contact between Çanakkale and Ezine. Students participating in the study had the opportunity to examine the rock communities of different ages and compositions exposed on Bozcaada, and to observe the landslide areas on the southern coast of the island, Bozcaada beachrock, Ayazma Beach, Zunguma eolianite (petrified dunes), Bozcaada wind turbines and Western Cape cliffs and dunes. The study ended after observations of Bozcaada Castle and the settlement area.
