TÜBİTAK 2237-A "Learning about My Heritage" Project was successfully completed.

Assoc. Dr. The "Learning My Heritage" project, supported by TÜBİTAK (BİDEB) 2237-A Scientific Education Activities Support Program, carried out by Oya ERENOĞLU, was held between 4-8 September 2023 at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Faculty of Education.

The aim of the project is to convey the importance of natural and cultural heritage to geography teacher candidates through active learning-based methods and to make them aware of natural and cultural values. Thus, when geography teacher candidates become instructors, they will be able to offer their students the opportunity to teach natural and cultural heritage with more understandable, concrete data and by doing and experiencing.

During the theoretical trainings and practical trips provided within the scope of the project, historical places, archaeological sites and cultural museums containing various natural and cultural heritage elements within the borders of Çanakkale province were visited . During these trips, important places such as the Ancient City of Troy and Troy Museum, Assos Ancient City, Çanakkale Martyrs' Monument, Mirrored Bazaar, Çanakkale Maritime Museum, Geosciences and Natural History Museum were seen.

20 geography teacher candidates studying in the education faculties of all universities with geography teaching programs in Turkey were accepted to the project. The training staff of the project includes instructors who are experts in their fields, whose names are listed below.
