TURKISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE EDUCATION

The period of study in our department was rearranged in 1998 as 3,5+1,5 years in accordance with the reorganization of Education Faculties in Turkey. In its meeting on 11.07.2007, the Turkish Higher Education Council had re-evaluated the undergraduate programs for training secondary schools teachers in the faculty of education and decided to cancel the existing system in which the undergraduate program was combined with non-thesis graduate course (3,5+1,5 years). Instead, they introduced a new undergraduate program in which the pedagogical formation would be given to the secondary schools teachers throughout 5 years.

From the academic year of 2014-2015 onwards the undergraduate programs of secondary school field teaching was re-arranged by Turkish Higher Education Council as 4 years. Our department has not admitted students yet, but it aims to open the master programs.

The aim of our department is to train teachers for public and private high schools. The academic staff of our department consists of 1Associate Professor, 2 assistant professor and 1 phd research assistant.

TURKISH LANGUAGE IS RICH AND BROAD, AND CAPABLE OF EXPRESSING EVERY CONCEPT AND IDEA. NEVERTHELESS, IT IS NECESSARY TO SEEK, FIND, GATHER AND STUDY ITS ALL FEATURES.
