Students of the Department of Geography Education Carried Out Field Work in Edirne
2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students of the Department of Geography Education carried out a field study on cultural heritage in Edirne on May 4, 2024. A group of 45 students participated in the field study led by Lecturer Gülsen ERGINAL. Within the scope of the study, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Musa ULUDAĞ from Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education at Faculty of Education, Trakya University, informed our students about the many cultural assets in the central district of Edirne. Our students made observations at Meriç flood plain, historical bridges (Nato Bridge, Meriç Bridge), Historical Karaağaç Train Station, Hacı Adil Bey Fountain, Lausanne Monument, Natural History Museum, Hıdırlık Bastion, Balkan Wars Museum, Health Museum and Kitchen Museum, The Kaleiçi, Old Mosque, Üç Şerefeli Mosque, Selimiye Mosque and the historical Ali Pasha Bazaar in the center of Edirne. Within the scope of this study, our students had the opportunity to see the immovable cultural assets and protected areas of Edirne, the monumental city that served as the capital of the Ottoman Empire for 92 years.
