Students of Geography Teaching and Social Studies Teaching programs conducted a comprehensive cultural and field study trip on May 15, 2024. The trip, organized under the leadership of Dr. Hayri Çamurcu, included 44 students. The first stop of the trip began in Çanakkale and continued towards the Kuşadası district of Aydın. In Kuşadası, the students learned about the natural and historical riches of the region.

The second stop was Selçuk in Izmir. The students visited the House of the Virgin Mary and then the ancient city of Ephesus. The artifacts displayed in the Ephesus Archaeological Museum provided them with extensive information about the daily life and art of the ancient period. Another stop in Selçuk was the Basilica of St. John. After learning about the history and architecture of the basilica, the students visited the village of Şirince to closely observe the rural culture of the region.

The trip concluded with a short walk in Alsancak Kordon in Izmir, where the students had the chance to observe the modern aspect of the city. This cultural and field study trip allowed the students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical experience and to learn about significant historical and cultural sites in Turkey firsthand. As a result, the students gained a rich academic and cultural experience.
