Students of Social Studies Education Department Carried Out Field Work at Assos Archaeological Site.

3rd and 4th grade students of the Department of Social Studies Education carried out a field study at  Assos Archaeological Site  on May 11, 2024. A group of 41 students participated in the field study conducted by Lecturer Gülsen Erginal within the scope of the course. Within the scope of the study, detailed information about the Assos Ruins was given to our students by Archaeologist Ayla Ömeroğlu, staff of the Troy Museum. Our students had the opportunity to observe and obtain information about the excavation history of the ruins, its sections, the Acropolis, the structures in the western entrance excavation area, the Necropolis, the buildings from the Hellenistic period and the Byzantine period, the Han area, the Agora, the Roman Period Ancient Theater and the Walls. The students, who also visited the Hudavendigar Mosque, were also informed about the methods and techniques used in archaeology.
