Field trip to the ancient cities of Troy and Assos

A group of 30 students, consisting of 2nd year Geography Teaching students taking the Cultural Geography course at the Faculty of Education and students taking the GKS-coded Tourism Geography course of Turkey, carried out field work on November 1, 2023. In the course practice carried out under the coordination of Lecturer Gülsen Erginal, students made observations in the ancient cities of Troy and Assos and the Troy Museum. In the study, students were informed about the cultural heritage values of ancient cities, their strategic and commercial functions in their periods, findings obtained from excavations and the opportunities they offered in terms of tourism geography.
