AIMS
We aim to equip the students of Geography, History, Turkish Language and Literature, Social Studies Education and Turkish Language Teaching with field of knowledge pedagogical formation; to provide education and training at an international level in line with universal experience which has been acquired in scientific area and innovation; to contribute to the development of natural, social and cultural environment; to train teachers who possess the identity of unifier and constructive, and reflect the knowledge, skills and experience, which they have gained in social relations, on their behaviours; to evolve into a department that provides academic contribution to the solution of both domestic and international education problems.

Mission

We are assigned to train Geography, History, Turkish Language and Literature, Turkish Language and Social Studies teachers who are democrat, scientific and constructive in character, and adopt life-long and self-perpetuating learning as principle, and follow the recent scientific news, and able to apply the contemporary scientific developments, theories and approaches to their fields from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Our Targets are:

1. To increase the number of academic staff and scientific standards,
2. To admit students again to the Departments of History Education, and Turkish Language and Literature Education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels,
3. To reduce the course load on academic staff,
4. To achieve to be a department that produces projects,
5. To open PhD programme in Geography Education,
6. To admit students again to the PhD programme of Turkish Language Teaching,
7. To be a Pioneer in teaching Turkish as a foreign language,
8. To continue our success in Public Personnel Selection Examination,
9. To achieve to be a successful department in terms of national and international reputation, and competition.
